correct size and placement for Grand Sport fender stripes (hash marks)
correct size and placement for Grand Sport fender stripes (hash marks)?
I'm thinking about getting grand sport fender stripes. But what is the correct size and location (if any)?
Here are 2 pics posted here. The black car has both stripes the same width and in the middle of the wheel-well.
The gray car has different widths and towards the rear of the fender.
Which was is correct?

The stripes came into being so that race crews could tell which car was which back in the 60's when teams ran almost identical cars. There was no set width or color etc. Since it's your car do what you feel looks good. If you can't find any forum vendors with them, check the FFR and Shelby boards. I have seen them for sale on those boards.

Do you have any more info about this?? I would like to put one in to, dose it only goes on the driver side if I want it to look like the original what is the location and what is the width of the stripes

I think that the stripes should only be on the drivers side.

Right or wrong, my GS fender stripes are both 3" wide and there is a 1 1/4" spacing between the two stripes. The first stripe starts 6" from the top point of the fender (near the back of the headlight cover). I originally bought a set of the stripes from Ecklers but did not like the fact that one stripe was quite a bit wider than the other.

I think it's mostly personal choice rather then putting them the "correct way." Personally, I put them so that it looks symmetrical from the side.

Diff people got diff taste for C4 and C6 Z06 Ron Fellows, those stripes are just GM's taste
For me, I would not put Ron Fellows stripes on my vette because those look unfinished. The reason they look like that on C6-R's because C6-R's got vents on both of the fenders. GM just messed up
Now, Dark_Phantom stripes, to me, look super ... again, it is for my tatse and his taste
So in conclusion, when you talk about art, there is no such a correct size That is also the reason my fender stripe kit includes 3 pieces: 2 same width pieces and a third piece wider than the other two. That way, owner can put 2 same width fender stripes or 1 smaller than another

But I'm a cheap bastard and thought I'd have somebody local do it. Then I thought, why don't I go to a local place and just ask if they will give it to me for free....and guess what....they did.
So I got what I needed for my project FOR FREE. Brought it home and about 15 minutes later I was all done.
Plus i have enough left over to do about 3 more sets of stripes if i ever change my mind.
