Default How to check differential fluid?

Is there a way I can check the level of the differential fluid I got a small leak and want to check the fluid i dont have a lift or ramps??

Heres a thread that shows how to change the diff fluid. It'd be tricky to get at with the car on the ground.

I'm on shakey ground and you may want to post in the Tech Forum but I seem to remember that you top up until you get fluid coming from the fill hole. Post on Tech and there are smart guys who will answer.

BTW is the leak from the seal? If so you might want to read this TSB

I just changed my fluid. The fill hole is up higher to on the backside. Undo it and stick your finger straight in. You should just barely touch the fluid level. The fluid should be just at the bottom of the fill hole. The car must be level to do this check.

It takes longer to jack the car up and put the 4 jack stands under it than it does to check the fluid level.

its a 02 zo6 sorry i didnt mention that ,is the fill hole in the same place? anyone happen to have a picture of where exactly it is??
