what's behind my plate
My car came with my license plate looking like this. I wanted a clean stock look so I bought a new one. Today, as i'm about to remove the old one, I find this. Does anyone know what this is?

It looks to be a laser jammer. It's not an Escort ZR3 Laser Shifter or Valentine (Valentine does not make laser jammers anyway). I have not seen this brand or design before. It also does not appear to be a Blinder laser jammer either.
Maybe someone else recognizes it.

Hey guys
I'll try to trace the wires tomorrow.....if I can fit to look under. There's nothing onboard to indicate some detector that I would see.....like what one would typically see on their dash.

i have seen those as well and I always though they were part of a custom security system..when the car is off and locked the light goes back and forth...who knows

Aren't radar detectors illegal in BC?
That being the case no one would mount one so obviously...
therefore it has to be part of a custom alarm system.

As pointed out, it's the K-40 Laser Diffuser.
This is the only pic I could find but they do make the one shown without the license plate frame or he could have simply cut the frame off and mounted it behind the cover.

It just appears to be a custom mount on the Vette.
