Cozmo and Chriswtx's Big Adventure (Lotsa Pics)
I drove down to new Braunfels Texas about 50 miles south of Austin and hooked up with Chris. We drove another 20 or so miles down to San Antonio to a Friday night cruise in at Biffs Burgers. Lots of very nice cars there. It started as a normal night.
Our cars
Some of the other cars.
Chris recently finished a new forged motor with supercharger. He got a lot of attention from the folks there. A few people asked to hear it. He started and revved it up a bit. It sounded great. Unfortunately one of the new pulleys had a bad bearing and seized. A belt got hot from rubbing over it and snapped.
Chris caught a ride to the auto parts store to get a new belt and I stayed behind to watch the cars. I had an old scissors jack in my car and an emergency tool kit. When we jacked up the car to replace the belt, we found that it had broken loose an oil line from the supercharger down to the oil pan. We didn't have the tools to fix that.
We drove my car to Chris's house to pick up his truck and trailer. We had to jump his old beater to move it out of the way. We then headed back to get the car. The place had emptied out by then, but we got a few Mustang guys to help us push it onto the trailer. Of course they told us this would have never happened had it been a Mustang.
As you can see it left a nice trail.
We got it safely on the trailer. We had no working lights on the trailer so we used the Vettes parking lights as tails and towed it safely home.

You know it was a good turn out when you see at least one car leave on a tow truck... I've seen that at the last few shows I've attended!
Great shots Larry --- thanks for posting/sharing!

The good news is that Doug had sent me the new and improved idler a few weeks ago, I had just been too lazy to install it..:o So its a quick fix and I will be back on the road...

Its not a car show. Every Friday night at Biffs burgers local hot rodders just hang out. Usually about 150 cars. Biffs has a DJ who plays music until 10pm. Lots of fun on a Friday night...
