Default shifter feels wierd when I put it in 3rd gear while driving

While I am shifting into 3rd gear (from 2nd) while driving, a lot of the times it feels like the shifter doesn't slide into gear as smoothly as the other gears. I had the dealer replace the 3rd gear syncro but it is still doing it. I also noticed it slides in much smoother at high RPM....

Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks!

My 02 did it and my 04 does too! I had them both to the dealers and complained about a "crunch" feel from 2nd to 3rd...of course "nothing is wrong" I do find that when everything is up to temp, or the weather is hot it is not doing it.

Normal? I don't know, but I have exactly the same "feel" with my ~20K miles, babied '04 tranny; been there since I got it at <3K miles.

My '97 does the same thing. It only has a about 10,500 miles on it.

Same here. 04 MSG with 21k and the car has been doing it since day one. Once the car heats up, it seems to go away.

Yeah seems like it's normal with all these responses. I know I could make the "crunch" go away if I shift into 3rd at high RPM... not really sure why it does that. Everyone also seems to experience the once in a while issue with shifting into 1st or reverse (requiring that you momentarily put it into another gear before trying again).
