Default How do you prepare for winter storage? Full or empty tank of gas?

What do you guys who live in areas that get snow do for the winter? Right now I have the car in the garage with a cover over it and the battery disconnected. The car also has very little gas but what is recommended for winter storage, to have very little gas or to keep some in it? 1/4 tank, half tank, full tank? Anything else I should do? This is the first winter that I will probably just keep it stored as in the past, I would take it out as long as there was no salt on the ground, so I never worried about storage issues. Thanks in advance for your help

I have never had to store my car, but I recommend a fuel stabilizer and a full tank. A lot of folks also use a battery tender.

We store ours for 6 months with a full tank so there is less space for condensation. A little fuel stabilizer and a battery tender keeps her ready for the spring.

Full tank with a fuel stabilizer
Pump the tires up to 40-45psi to prevent flatspotting
Pull the battery and put it in the basement w/ a battery tender
Throw some dryer sheets on the inside and lay a few on top of the engine
(DO NOT forget to remove ALL of the sheets before you start 'er up)

No real storage for me this year. I'll keep the fuel at 3/4 or more and keep the cover on w/ the float charger but if I have a good day w/ dry roads it's outta there. That's my storage plan.

Since it will only sit for 3 mos; just a little fuel stabilizer.

An oil change this morning, gave it a quick bath; turned the heater on in the garage to help dry it out, and cover it tonite.

I'll wax it, pull the wheels and clean them and the wheel wells and detail the engine bay over the winter.

If the weather is nice over Christmas break, maybe a quick run to Bowling Green. Did that last year, what a blast!

I also put some dessicant inside to prevent the chance of mold developing and wipe the weatherstipping with Aerospace 303 protectant.

Default Winter Storage

I use the following on my Vette and SSR:
Wash and Wax
Fill the tank and add Sta-Bil fuel stablizer
Fill the tires to 35 Psi
Park the car on carpet squares
Connect a Battery Tender with a cigarette lighter adapter
Put moth ***** and Irish Spring soap in the interior, engine compartment and the trunk and truck bed
Put steel wool in the tail pipes
Cover it with a good cover and wait until March
I do check both of them once a month for critters.

Pretty much the same for me except that I don't use the float charger because I start it at least once a week...and if I get the itch I'll go out and wax her.

Mostly full tank, a little Sta-Bil, 45 psi in the tires, a Battery Tender and a cover...good for the 90-120 days I put in storage for all three.

We have snow/salt already in WI. Only got less than a 1/2 tank with some stabil on it. I will kepp a battery tender on it and start every few weeks. Do I really have to try and add more gas? Don't want to go on the road...would have to use gas can!
