Default How many gallons in our gas tank?

So I tucked my baby away for the winter 2 weeks ago but hav'nt gotten around to adding STABIL to the gas tank as yet since I am not sure how many gallons of gas is in there. The gas tank is full right now as she sits. Before someone pipes this, I already know I am lazy

Depends on where you look to find out how much gas it holds. According to www.corvetteactioncenter.com '97-'00 has a 19.1 gallon tank, '01-'03 has a 18.5 gallon tank, and '04 has a 18 gallon tank.

It also depends on whether it is half full or half empty.

realize too that if you put stabil in the tank you need to run the car for a while to circulate the stabil around, helps to make sure that you get the stabil in all of the fuel system.
don't forget to tell her sweet dreams for the winter.

You can't overdose STABIL.

If you don't know the amount of gasoline you're dealing with, give it lot's!!

STABIL is some good stuff. I have used it on my Camaro while I have been to the Middle East two times already.

Make sure you run the engine for 5 minutes or so after adding to let it circulate through the system. It will work up to 20 gallons so you should be good to go!

Mine is 18 gallons - one of the bottles that treats 20 gallons will work just fine.

That should have been pre-mixed or put into a low tank 1st. Then run for about 10 minutes to circulate thru the engine. Might not do much good putting it into a full tank now.

Does anyone know why thru the C5 years they changed the amount of fuel the tanks hold?

Some other posts suggested running the engine for 5 minutes to let it circulate through the system. Your fuel system doesn't operate like an oil return system.
