Well I could not see my self dropping $300+ for a coil relocation kit and I hated the stock FRC's and the coils sitting on top of the covers so I got bored and went out to the depot and peiced toghter my own kit ($12), the only thing expensive thing that I did HAVE to buy were the MSD wires that were cut-to-length and crimp yourself kit (#32079) made specifically for the LS1/LS6. I only have 1 pic of what I used to make for the coil "brackets" (sry about that) but its threaded rod and peices of copper pipe (could not fins anything that small in steel or PVC) for the spacers with nuts on each end to hold the coils on, I got them as close together as I could and put the pass side ones behind the battery and the drivers side underneath the rear side of the washer fluid res. Also for extending the harness for the coil packs I had a buddy of mine get a hold of some connections (thanks Jason aka Itallian33) and I added wire and soldered them up and taped the wires. I used Duplicolor caliper paint for the covers, the spray paint at that (again thanks for the left over Jason ). I think they came out great, here are some before and after pics. I wish I had a pic of when the coils were on there but I dont. And on a side note to show you how good the MSD's are I ohmed the stock 6" wires (resistance) and they were ~720 , my longest msd wire was about 2.5 ft and it was only ~120.

Melting Slicks
I have seen alot of folks routing the wires UNDER the headers... They are using a different 90degree boot i believe to gain the clearances, really like the look either way.
On my list of mods.. just have to find the time

I would think there is too much heat that way, plus I really did not have a lot of room to mount the behind the headers

Nice job on the relocation. And good that you could do it on a small budget.

BEE-U-TEE-FUL; really cleans up the engine compartment.
here's my post about doing this same mod:

don't worry about the ignition wire lengths. If you saw the ones on the C5R... you wouldn't worry at all.
