Default I hear a Buzzzz

The winter has been a long one but the weather was nice on Sunday (snowed on Monday), so we took the 2003 vette out for a short drive.

I hear a buzz that sounded like it came through the speakers. I shut the radio off but I still hear it. The buzz also goes on and off with the turn signals (i.e. buzz ..... buzz ..... buzz .....). Like I said we tried it with the radio off and the antenna came down but we still heard the buzz. It's not loud but both my wife and I heard it once I pointed it out.

This is going to drive me crazing in trying to figure this one out. Has anyone else heard of such a thing???

Any chance you have your cell phone nearby? Everytime i put my phone next to the dash, I get the interference/static noise. Good luck!

By Chance did you get a new cell phone with bluetooth? if so leave it out of the car and take a drive...it took me forever to figure out it was my phone...even did it with the radio off.

I had the same thing happen to me today. The car was off as was the radio, but I still heard static coming from the speakers. Also, my hatch kept popping itself open, which was later followed by a dead battery. And tonight while driving home, I noticed that my headlights would intermittently dim a little and then go back t normal. My first plan of action is to clean the grounds. If problems persist after that, I'm going to direct my attention to the alternator. Battery has been eliminated as the issue by swapping out my year and a half old yellow top with a brand new red top that my brother had available.

No problem bro. Probably wrote the same time. To the op, keep us posted once you diagnosed and fixed the problem.

No aftermarket sub/amp/speakers/radio... everything is stock. I did have my cell phone along and yes it is bluetooth enabled so I'll be experimenting with that. I too thought of a ground issue but also thought of a filter (capacitor) problem too. Too many possibilities. Thanks for the hints of where to start.
