Default I got a new IPOD - Now What?

I received an Apple IPOD for my B'Day. I thought CD's were the Cat's meow until I got this. I want to hook it up in my Vette, but alas, I have the stock Bose' system. That means a direct plug and play system is out of the question. So, if that is not possible, what is the next best solutiion? An FM adapter? Which is the best for the Bose' system that will NOT cost more than the IPOD..?

Default ipod

I bought an IPOD2CAR. It connects to the feed for the multi stack disk player in the rear center hatch.
I think that there was a kit for those Corvettes that don't have the rear disk player.

HawnHog,

Congrats on getting your IPOD, they're the cat's meow! Search on IPOD2CAR in the general forum. Several members have posted great info and DIY steps for intallation of this system.

Default FM converter not acceptable

Hi, I have an ipod also. Wanted to us it in my cars, currently none of them have a direct input. I got a few different FM converters, one that uses one frequency, and one that is settable to many frequencies. Sorry to say that they are totally unaceptable. Sound is quite simply lousy. Yes you can hear the music, but it is no way even close to a cd, or even a radio station quality. My brother has an fm converter that gets installed inline between the antenna and the radio, very easy to do, but just a bit better than the other types fm converters. Direct input is the only way to go for good sound.
Just my experience with it. I,m thinking of putting a direct input in myself, will have to check into the ones mentioned.
Good Luck

Ipod to car is great!! It charges your IPod and you use the cd buttons to dial through the songs. here's where I got mine.

If you have a changer you will not be able to use it...BUT with 700 songs in my IPod no need for cd's.
I ran the wire from the radio to the console.

Pull the read inside tail light on the passenger side look down in there see if you see is a connector the isnt connected to anything. I did the "dash pull with the adapter" only to find the CD changer connector when I was dong my rear LEDS ..

congrats on the ipod, once you get it filled up, you will probably never listen to the radio again. between xm and my ipod, I can drive for days and have all the tunes I want!

theres nothing like having 800 cd's that take up as much space as a cell phone.

I had an Alpine installed with Bluetooth and ipod connection. I didn't install for XM 'cause the ipod has all the music I need. Not the cheapest solution, but I also love way the dash looks.

Thanks for the info. I just got an 02 with the 12 disc changer and would be interested in something like that. Sounds simple, which is good. I don't like the thought of someone ripping apart my dash.

According to the isimple website, the GM adapter only works with non-CD changer equipped cars. (Right?) I also have a 12 cd changer 2000 coupe. I'd love to find an easy ipod hook up. I'm clueless about wiring, so it has to be easy to do. Do the cassete adapters sound good?
