Default C5 Split Window Coupe ? Anyone Build One ?

I've seen Sooo much on this forum - so how about a custom C5 Split Window Coupe - does it exist ? And another question - Why is it I've never seen Side Pipes on a C5 ? Is it out of style or the car design doesn't allow it ? Has anyone ever seen aftermarket wheels that have Knock Offs (center hub like the C2s) for the C5 as well ?

I believe there were pictures of a custom side-pipe C5 here a while back but I'm sure it was difficult and, of course, expensive. The unique structure of the C5 doesn't lend itself to an easy conversion job.

Here are a couple of shots one of my C5's underbelly. Not easy to get to the rockers without major mods. Course, the rear-mounted turbo system does offer possibilities.

Here are a few shots of the Avelate Corvette C5 conversion Avelate sold a while back.

There are also C1 and C5 conversion kits sold for the C5.

Never seen a knockoff wheel for the C5.

I'm pretty sure the company that manufactured the kits went bankrupt. One of their kit cars went across the block at Barret Jackson this year; it was hyerstical listening to Varsha and the Speed crew voice their feelings of displeasure.

I guess I better not post a pic of my other one that is a fair weather car - that is the clean one. Actually, owning a lift lends itself to a clean underside. It's a natural way to pass the time when you're waiting for oil to drain or doing spring maintenance.

Needs flush taillights and exhaust tips, and a redo on the lower half of the front end, and it'd look pretty mean.

I've seen this car several times in person, both before and after this particular paint job. I'm one of the few who thinks the previous paint job looked better. JMO.

Have to agree...looks like the illegitimate love child of several different vette generations. Ever seen "Alien Resurrection"?
