Default Service ABS/Service Traction Control System Blinking???

My car is a 99 FRC. This morning, I went over a set of railroad tracks, and all of the sudden, my ABS and Traction Control lights came on, and the dash read Service Traction Control System Service ABS System!

I was driving slow, and the rr tracks are not very bumpy, so I was shocked. I pulled over and turned the car off, let it sit for a minute and started her back up, and all SEEMS fine.

Has this happened to anyone else, and any ideas of the culprit? thanks

Probably the early signs that your EBCM is going south. Check your codes - if you have a C1214 history code you likely have an EBCM repair in your future. All I can say is ABSFIXER! Search the threads.

Could be one of a few things. There are 4 major components to the AH/TCS/ABS system. Do you have Active Handling on your 99? IIRC it was an option that year.

In my case my steerring wheel position sensor is playing up

Check the codes and post them here. We have a few experts who really know their stuff on this sytem. The codes will tie it down - before you go down the road of an expensive repair for the wrong part.

More than likely it will need a fix.

go to www.absfixer.com and you'll see what he'll do!

Same thing happened to me and I sent it to him for $150.00 and it is perfect!

The guy is a class act and he'll personally answer all your questions and YES! you can drive the Vette with the module off!

Thanks,Matt

How do i know if I threw any codes? Oh, and anyone in the Tampa area that can check them? Strike that, I used the search function like i was supposed to and am checking the codes now. Thanks

Update, Here are the codes I pulled
C1226H - Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor
B2578H - Right front turn signal monitor circuit
B2583H - Left front turn signal monitor circuit
B2723H - Car didn't recognize key??
B1001H - SDM ID problem?
B0516H - Speedo Signal Circuit Malfunction

From what I read it looks like I need to check the connectors on the right front wheel (found the thread with the pics of the plugs), now if the person I bought the car from will only send me the locking lug socket.....

The bad thing would be a C1214C which often means that the EBCM is going south. If so, the absfixer repair is a good wayto go. Way cheaper than buying a new EBCM.

There are other components that could be bad depending on what codes it's giving. post up whether its a "C" or an "H"

I don't have active handling, but I did reset the codes to see if any of them come back.
