Default Any C5 Gen Folks have Dial up or 56K???

I see a lot of folks who post warning for dial up or 56K modem users in their subject line. Heck, I haven't had a telephone line to my house in at least 2 or 3 years.

I travel a lot for business and get high speed access at all hotels. All airports have it. Some want you to pay, but it is free in most.

Am I off base here or do a lot of folks still have modems?

Yeah, havent seen an actual telephone cable in at least 3 years. Who "pilots" a C5 and has dial-up?

*raises hand* I have a dial down..err dial up...

Only choice besides satellite which doesn't seem worth it.

Rural Ohio hasn't quite caught up with the times.

Thanks for posting. I was wondering if all the dial up warnings were valid.

Yes they are, its quite sad...I miss out on what I *believe* to be some nice corvette pics...

Sometimes I just load the page and go out and fish..then I come back and the pictures are half loaded and I am disconnected.

Maybe someday I can see some of your alls cars

Thanks for the info. Even my mom who lives in rural Kentucky has had cable for years.

I guess I am a little bit envious though. I wish I could go fish whenever I had some free time.

I'm not quite sure why the area hasn't caught up, maybe not enough of a market, considering most of my areas are Mennonites.

But yeah, the catfish are biting like crazy along with the bass and crappies.

I live out in the sticks in England. Even out here we have broadband service via the landline. Not the fastest speed I've ever seen (about 2-3 Mbps) but it works OK most of the time.

Here in Alaska, broadband is alive and well... I haven't heard the devil's air raid (er, modem noises) in about 5 years now.

I have dial up, it works great. No problems viewing posts with posts warning about dial up. I can't see any reason to spend more money per month to replace something that work real good for me.

Been on cable since it was in beta test for Time Warner. Akron was one of the first pilot sites for all of north america. Back then it was called Line Runner. It used to be much faster then than it is now. I've been paying them for almost 15 years now.
