2 MGW Shifter Installs
When my friend Bob saw my MGW shifter...he had to have one. Here are some pics of the install. His is the Sliver Vert, mine is the black one. We had fun hanging out, pouring em back, and working on the Vettes. It was neat to see the garage in full Vert effect. Hope you enjoy.

Nice mod and looks like you both had a good time with the install.

I was nervous going in, because I did not have any real issues with the stock shifter (did not know any other). My car only has 15k miles, and I could not help thinking..."this is not necessary...I am going to open a can of worms".
Honestly, I can not believe how pleasantly surprised I am with the results. This turned out to be a major improvement and it ads exponentially to the fun factor. Not to sound like a paid commercial advertisement for MGW....but the quality of their product is spectacular. When you compare the design, the manufacturing, and the materials to the stock GM product...you will laugh. The shifter is stiff, accurate, and fast. Install is a 5 on the scale if 1-10 as far as difficulty. I am loving it. And now, so is my buddy Bob. The speed ball shift handle is neat as heck as well. Very racecar like...
Hope this info helps.

I think it was $199.00 for the shifter
$40 for the ****
$9.00 shipping
Very reasonable in my opinion, considering the quality of the product.

Now the con's... I found the shifter as delivered to be too stiff (side to side) for me.
I ended up purchasing the longer shaft they have to help, but also replaced the springs with lighter springs I got from Home Depot.
With these it's much better, but I have plans to eliminate the springs.
You can't just take them out - because then you can pull up on the shifter and possibly lift it out of the shift rod. Once I get around to my final fix I'll post pics.
I posted pictures somewhere of my install, including the longer shaft... search for MGW (oddly enough, I don't remember if I started that thread...).

Man, get off the fence and get yourself a MGW shifter. I've had mine for about 3 or 4 months and it is the best on the market. If you are looking for fast, positive, smooth shifts, then this is the right one.

Nice job! Looked like a good time hanging out installing mods!
I think it was an easy install too. 2 on a 1-10 scale.
Did you do the "AntiVenom mod"?
We noticed that the shifter was a little stiff on the detent,so we did the AntiVenom mod and now the shifter goes into gear easily.

We did not do the AntiVenom mod. I just began to research that.
I forgot to metion that the Silver Vert had the B&M ripper shifter in it, before changing to the MGW. He claims that there is a dramatic improvement wit the MGW.

The AntiVenom mod took me about 20 minutes to do. You might even not need to do it,but it was a little difficult for us to get into reverse and 6th gears.
