Rockstar pink FRC with the new C6Z style quarters- pics-
I'll share some shots of my wife's almost completed C5!
It started as a 99 FRC, there's not too much left of it now
IT's got the new C6Z style rear quarters, a tigershark rear (very impressed with the quality) a Caravaggio blower hood, and a whole lot of kandy pink.
The paint is a marvelous finish that is done with a chromelike silver first, followed by ten coats of kandy pink.. giving it an almost anodized look. It doesn't show the contrast on this cheap camera I have, I think it's bling overload.
While we had it apart, I replaced all the exterior weatherstripping, put in new glass with the trim around it, new emblems, basically restoring the now ten year old car. We also re-did the leather inside and freshened up the rest of the interior.
It's also minitubbed, running 18x10 and 19x13 Aeros with 345s out back. The TS taillight section we did with a flattened clear for a matte-black look that will hold up to the FL sun and not chalk up when you get wax on it. The lights we re-did with a tinted poly coating that is baked on, and as glossy as the car. While the interior was out, I covered the tubs and cargo area in dynomat and installed an Exotic Vette insulation kit and partition.
It still lacks a few exterior pieces, like the screens for the rear brake ducts, I have those out to fab up new brake cooling ducts as this requires something custom as it's tubbed. I also have to figure out some new exhaust tips as I got some Corsas from a guy who had a C5 so I thought I might be able to shorten them a little and use them with the TS rear, but they turned out to be scratched up and worthless.
So far the car has TPIS longtubes with full exhaust, and an LS6 intake with all the other Mickey Mouse bolt-ons. I swapped out all the suspension for Z06 stuff and installed a Z06 M12 trans with the cryoed diff and a billet left shaft. On the engine stand is the forged LS3 awaiting the Maggie Mabye Santa will bring her a Maggie..

It looks great! I did them at the same time, taped to the windshield, so the coverage is identical. Small parts like that I can match pretty good. The problem is when you try and do a fender or door..etc, or other big parts that you can really stand back and look at.

I was just messing with ya. I've done two before.. one back in 2002 on a brand new EB Z, and another FRC a few years ago. We were supposed to targa this one, in fact I used your thread to "sell" the idea to her, but she didn't want the car to take any longer than it had to.
I ronically, it took me three months to build the car, instead of the three weeks I first promised her, (putting the quarters in production held it up) so I would have had the time afterall.
Oh well, your Z turned out absolutely sick and I am thinking of getting one for myself, so that one will undeniably meet the sawzall
MIke- It's my wife's DD- the front end is staying right where it's at !

When I saw the title of this thread, I had a horrible image in my head of what a pink FRC would look like.
When I opened it, I was pleasantly surprised.
The car looks very and different.
