What is cause of CD player ejecting CD & showing "err"?
After popping in a CD in my 2002 Z06, all of a sudden after about 3 seconds, the CD player opens up and ejects the CD I just put in and then shows on the radio displays "err".
Has anyone else experienced this and what is the problem and what is involved regarding fixing said problem with my CD player?
Thanks in advance!

Burning Brakes
Some CD's copied or duplicated, using a computer will sometimes not be read properly if the burn rate used is to fast. Try slowing down the burn rate when creating the CD. the settings can usually be changed in what ever recording software you are using.

or maybe you might need to clean the CD or the player?

It's toast
Same thing happened to me when I tried to burn some CD's. They work fine in my other Vette. I posted here at that time and the general concenus was, "it's toast". Go to E-bay and get a new one..

New to Corvettes but had the same problem. CDs worked in my Fords but not in the Vette. Found one burned CD that worked and it is the same as the others. No clue at this point....

I believe in the Beer Fairy
The factory cd players are just crap (sorry to say). Almost everyone I know with a delco player has had to replace it for the same reason (myself included). Best bet is to get the GM / Bose harness and get an aftermarket player.

These radios can be repaired for a small fee.
Im sure if you search on the web you will find someone to repair it.
I cant recall who it was but i found you could get this fixed for about 120.00..
Good Luck

sheesh.....for $120 you could buy yet another delco off of ebay. IMO unless you are stuck to keeping it all stock, go aftermarket.

I have a 2000, and mine did the same. One day the CD player just stopped working, and said 'err'. Aparantly this is a common porblem with the CD player portion of the radio. I got mine fixed for $145 at Dr Don's. No problems since.
