Default Electrochromatic Rear view mirror???

Is there a sensitivity adjustment for these mirrors? Mine doesn't seem to darken much even with bright lights right on my butt!

Also, how difficult is it to change out the yellow and blue map lights in the mirror, any tutorials out there? Will these fit? 44mm = 1-3/4" Long 6LED (Replaces: 212 211 212-2 214-2 6413 6429)...

No its either on or off

I have the same problem. I've never been particularly impressed with the performance of mine. maybe I just got a bad one.

I would rather have a manual flip mirror with HomeLink! I wondered if cleaning the sensor lens with a Q-tip would help (clutching at straws here)?

Any input on the mirror's map lights DeeGee?

Hmm, mine does a pretty good job. I had a couple behind me that I thought were awfully bright, then I reached up turned it off and was truly blinded. Turned it back on. With a lot of these newer high intensity bulbs that are so much brighter, I'd be inclined to believe it wasn't originally programmed for them. Wonder if the C6 version is more effective?

Yeah sometimes, not often, you have to tilt it a bit to take annoying lights out of your view.

Here is the answer to your LED question. You have to unsolder the LED's to replace them. The festoon lamp is a replacement for the manual mirror.

Here is a tutorial on how to replace the LED's.

Here is the LED install thread.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1996579

The first post in this thread has all the info on the correct replacement LED's.

As to the issue with the mirror dimming, I have not had an issue with it. Of course my rear window is tinted.

I happy with the way my electrochromatic mirror works, it doesn't get overly dark the way some of those mirrors where you just flip the lever, but it does cut the glare.

The bulbs in the link to the bulbs sold by autolumination.com are not the correct ones. You will need 12- 5mm LED's, 13 if you plan on replacing the LED that shines on the shifter.

I have done, 5 or 6 of these and I've got it down to about 3 or 4 hours once you've removed it from the windshield. Which the subject of many posts here. You need a mirror removal tool or a small curved prybar.

Yes, there is a sensitivity adjustment. Push firmly on the long skinny pedal with your right foot and you will quickly see the bright lights in your mirror to dim.

Thanks for the info gentlemen, figures the General wouldn't make it as easy as replacing a "festoon"...
