Problems with Dual Cone Install
The dual cone air intakes position causes the stock air bridge to arch quite a bit to where it won’t seat properly on the radiator shroud. What have others done to fix this?
Is there a way to get the cone to sit deeper within the vehicle?
Is there a cheap air bridge replacement that has the flexibility to lay on the radiator without affecting the cones position?

Mine were a bit hard to get on the plastic rivits, but everytime they popped off I would just put it back in place. Believe it or not somehow the plastic shaped itself over time and it now fits perfect!

When I applied pressure to put the grommets on the rivets, despite how tight I had everything the cone popped out of the coupler before the MAS. It's just too much of an angle.

Got it off ebay...the cone is basically the same as those that the CF vendors are selling. Hard to imagine the stock air bridge reshaping over time...that is some hard plastic material.

Air bridge did not reshape but the front rad support did bend in. I did not have problems with the coupler but the rubber rivots that hold down the air bridge. I kept pushing the air bridge down and the radiator support is bending in. I hope this helps.

Oh wow I'm glad mine didnt bend, the rivits just expanded a bit on mine somehow.

KARSC5...when you mention the front rad support bended in, are you referring to the flat diagonal piece that the cone leans against?
If so, how much inward pressure can you apply without doing any damage?

Home now and relooking at it. I've got a good one inch gap between the radiator top and the stock air bridge. Gotta be a good way of making this look better. Ideas?

I would recommend selling the dual cones and getting a callaway honker or a vararam for true cold air intake (air from outside the engine bay).
Anything else is a waste of time IMHO.

The reason for buying the dual cones was for appearance vs utility. Like the look, just need a solution to close the gap between air bridge and radiator shroud.
Previous posts make mention of the hard black surface that the cone rests on bowing in over time. Whats behind that? How much pressure can be applied to bow it? Is there an aftermarket air bridge with flex that would rest on the radiator shroud despite how the dual cones sit?
