Trunk Lid release - 2000 Vert
I recently purchased a 2000 C-5 Vert and like it very much. I have been working on the smaller things to get it up to snuff.
When I release the trunk Lid it does release fully, only pops up an inch, so I must use a fingernail to get under lid to lift it up more so I can then lift it fully.
Anything suggestions on how to get the lid to pop up fully?

Search for trunk popper. You can install one yourself for just a couple of dollars.

I've had the same problem and it comes down to the latch not retracting quickly enough to get out of the way of the trunks lid clasp. If that's what it's called. Believe me since I spent a couple of hours figuring it out. What it comes down to is lubricating the latch so that the latch moves out of the way quicker. I used spray lithium grease or WD-40 both work and relieve the problem. I wouldn't be putting that spring thingy on my car. Check it out and let us know if that works for you.
While I was at it I lubed all the hinge points too.

Thanks for your response - I used W-D 40 on the latch and click release, also on all the hinges and now it pops up about 3 inches when I open it. Thanks again, your tip was good and it really worked!

Same problem on my Vert, trunk lid popped open better when windows were closed (air pressure inside car helped realease) but when I put the sound divider in that was the end of that. Bought the trunk popper and it has worked great ever since.

I must admit that I have to lube mine once a year but not every 2 or 3 weeks. So I guess it's good you bought the spring thingy.

I just bought 2 new trunk lid struts at AutoZone ($25.00 for the pair) and that did the trick!
Now it opens and closes better.... and pops open about 2" each time!
