4 wheel brake job for $160.
Well, after looking at all the options for brake rotors, I decided to simply take mine to the machine shop & have them turned. The cost was $15. each. I got front and rear pads for $101. with tax. The pads are Duralast Gold series from Autozone.
I bedded the pads in today and they work excellent. In comparison to any other options I had, this was the least expensive way to go. If youre not an auto x-er, I see no reason not to go this route if youre rotors are in spec and especially if youre on a tighter than usual budget.
The pads are made in the USA
Stainless steel vibration shim
Powdercoated finish
Brake pad part #'s
Front- DG731
Rears- DG732

I like your style man, you keep it in perspective. Turn 'em , burn 'em, toss 'em. Rotors are consumables just like pads are. Brembo OEM type rotors are only 55 bucks (Napa's are what, 5 bucks cheaper?) when you do run 'em out of spec. Unless you go the full boat and do a full BBK you're just spending money on drilled/slotted eye-candy cheese graters. Which is OK too if that's your thing.

$160.00 is a good deal!

yeah this is only an option if they are within spec to turn.. Ive only seem one vette that was. Gm rotors simply dont have enough meat to them. If you can manage to squeeze one turn, then they are done with after that.

I've never even tried turning mine, I just figure 100.00 for new fronts when needed are pretty cheap. But if they're turnable and you aren't stessing them any why not, I guess.

Did that to the fronts last spring,,they barely had to touch them on the lathe. They cleaned up nice,,and work just fine,,even hauling it down at the end of the strip!!

I hope this works out for you, but every time I've tried it, I ended up with a nice little pulsation in the pedal a few months later. I am done turning rotors. When I worked at the garage I could do it myself. No one wants to turn one around here for less than 20 bucks anymore! I just consider the new rotors part of the job now.
