Sherwin Williams has some great stuff, a bit expensive but it works excellent. Floor cleans up to brand new everytime.

Good Luck

I used Rustoleum beige 2 years ago and still looks good and easy to clean. I wash and scrub at least once a month.

I used the quickrete from lowes. Two car garage needed two kits. Don't mind the uneven apperance that was operator error.

I have used the POR 15 with very good results. I had looked at all the brands and I have had success with other POR 15 products so I pulled the trigger about a year ago.

Here is a before picture after I did the prep on the floor.

Here is a after picture, came out with the exact look that I wanted.

I did half the garage at a time without any problems.

I used Ucoatit over five years ago, still looks like new when I get around to washing it. I'll say this though to anyone on the fence about painting your garage floor. No matter what brand of paint you use, it is one of the single best improvements you can make to your garage. Everything stays so much cleaner, it's easy to find something that you might drop and it makes the garage look so much more finished.

I have tried two separate floor residential floor epoxy products. One was painted over an older concrete floor and one was painted into a new home/garage. Both residential grade products eventually lifted due to tire heat.

Has anyone been successful in keeping the paint on the floor? I can take the blame for the first older garage floor, however I was very disappointed when the new home/paint also lifted. It is a Florida home and when the tires were hot and wet (due to rain), the paint lifted.

A specialized paint floor contractor told me that the only way the paint won't lift if if the concrete is prepped correctly by glazing it into a rough surface prior to the epoxy being applied.

I went the less expensive route and installed the rubberized car mats on top of the epoxy.

Have you had any issues with the heat from the cats (I'm assuming you do have cats) and the
floor paint? I've seen some coatings that lift easily when subjected to the heat from the cats.

Thanks.........
I used the clear coat to get the high gloss finish. I did not use the slip resistance that they include with the kit, but the flakes do add some slip resistance. I have not found the floor to be too slippery and have not had a problem with slippage on wet floor.

No issue with heat, oil or anything else. I was a little worried about hot tire pick up of the product, but to date no problem and it has been almost 2 years.

I have extra product so if I get any deep scratches I can refinish that area with a spot repair. My next plan is for a large floor decal that I will put on and cover with a coat of clear.

Floor prep is the key, just like painting a car the prep work can be more important that the finish coat.

Good luck and let me know if you have any questions or would like more pictures posted as I took pics at every step.

I too used Sherwin Williams epoxy. It came out great but is slippery as hell since I didn't sprinkle sand into it.

I wonder if I can use POR 15 over that product...?? The POR 15 looks nice!

Oh and btw, the biggest part of the job is the prep work before paint. Make sure you use muriatic acid to etch the floor, otherwise the paint will peel off.

I am a general contractor and have installed many concrete floors. The absolute best advice I can forward to anyone that is going to build..........Lay heavy plastic sheeting UNDER the concrete. It creates a vapor barrier that inhibites moisture hydraulically lifting the paint.
