Are new rotors and pads suppose to smoke?
I just got done installing my CCW 505a's and new cross drilled/slotted rotors from ac delco and ceramic pads. Went for a test drive and noticed a burning smell then when i came back home i saw that the brakes on all 4 were smoking lightly. Its also cold out as well. Im assuming this is normal for new rotors and pads? I installed everything back how it was taken off. So i know i didnt do anything wrong.
Thanks..

It sounds like they are zinc coated. You will throw off tons of stuff as you wear through the zinc on the fire path. It goes away. I try to use my brakes as little as possible.

Your brakes are fine. Once the coating wears off, all will be OK.

From Hawkperformance
Brake pad break-in procedure.
1.After reaching medium speed engage brake pedal to slow car without coming to a complete stop. Release pedal quickly and do not drag brakes. Repeat four or five times.
2.At higher speeds engage brake pedal to slow car without coming to a complete stop. Release pedal quickly and do not drag brakes. Repeat five times.
3.At or near race speed engage brake pedal to slow car without coming to a complete stop. Release pedal quickly and do not drag brakes. Repeat three times. Allow a few seconds between brake engagements while car is in motion.
4.Do not hold brake pedal. Park car for approximately 20 minutes or until brake rotors are completely cool to the touch.
5.If during the above steps the brake pedal becomes soft or brake fade is noticed, park the car immediately for approximately 20 minutes. Do not hold brake pedal.

They started smoking again last night. I did a little bit of racing and not really that much braking, but there was a time i had to break hard. And they started smoking again. =/ ?
Any ideas?

As others have said, you should have used a cleaner, to remove any oil or other stuff. If you drive easily for a while, by doing some in town trips going easy on the brakes, you will be OK.The key is not to overheat them too soon, and to allow a gentle heating up and cooling down cycle. This is necessary for everything to wear in correctly. You can't just say "go 200 miles" or so, because the important factor is letting them heat up and cool down a number of times. That thing about going to 60mph, and the jamming on the brakes," bedding process "etc, is primarily for race type brakes.
I have drilled and slotted rotors with GM ceramic pads like you. All I did was drive nice and easy for awhile, before I started to jump on them. Now, after several thousand miles now, the brakes are just fine.
BTW, I did a post like you when I changed to these brakes, and this was the opinion of most other folks too.

You said you did a little playing and they smoked again, normal.
BUT, just wait until you do a lot of playing and use your brakes hard a few time. You are going to wish you did not buy ceramic pads. Worst mod I ever did to my Vette. When you hit the brakes as hard as you can and the car is not stopping is not fun. This is called brake fade. Its just a mater of time.
They may have low dust, but brake fade can kill you.

Ive had cermaic pads on my old LT1 camaro with LS1 brake upgrade and ive been running those for 2 years with no problems. That is with stock LS1 rotors though.
