Sad time at the Dealer today
I went to my local dealer today and picked up a part I ordered for my
C5ZO6. When I opened it there to check it this is what I found:
GM must be very proud of this to put it in big bold letters!
It really puts a kink in my long term GM loyality!

Yeah! GM is going down hill quickly. I dont like that either. This is also the reason I bought a Ford F250 instead of the Chevy. If I wanted an Isuzu motor in my vehicle I would have bought foreigh in the first place. Screw the Duramax!

That looks like the seal in the differential to tranny ????? If so I just had the same surprise last week.
But look at all your electronic modules and they were made in Mexico.
Just a thought but who is our government bailing out????

We live in a global economy - and the United States is no longer a manufacturing economy. The cost of manufacturing is simply too high - the workers wages, utilities, cost of raw materials, etc. has dictated that global companies like the automakers seek the lowest cost bid on parts.
Good luck buying electronics from even Japan - now most is built in third world countries like the Phillipines, China, India, etc. Even Japan cannot compete.
Clothing - it's all assembled in other countries. Look at shoes - even high priced shoes, they are all made somewhere else.
There is no simple answer other than to accept it and move on.

I agree with blacksedan87. Look at labels on everything and see where it is made. Not much is made in the USA anymore. The way it is and will be. In the 12-step AA program, what step is acceptance?

That's a long way from being the only part on the Corvette made in Taiwan, China, Australia, Mexico, Canada, etc. I'd be surprised if even 50% of the parts were made in the USA. Just the way it is.
