I say go for it...someone needs to compete with Mobil 1 which never reduced its price when the price of oil tumbled last year. If you don't run your car to the limits I can't see any reason for any other synthetic not passing the test. Others please chime in if you have facts.

In fact, the quality of Mobil 1 has been in question recently, so I can't imagine the NAPA is any worse. As for their premium filters, they're made by Wix so you can't go wrong!

I work for NAPA every now and then for a friend and the oil is valvoline. It is made in ashland kentucky and the filters are wix.I reccomend their products just because they are all made by a good name brand and repackaged.Good luck.

From what I have been able to find out, the Napa synthetic oil does not meet GM4718M spec so if your car is still under warranty I would not recommend using it. Just in case you were to have some kind of engine problem and GM were to discover that the oil you were using didn't meet their specs would most likely void your warranty.

The oil is made by Valvoline, aka the Ashland Corporation, but that doesn't mean it's identical repackaged product that you find in Valvoline bottles. In fact, if you call Ashland up, they will tell you it's not the same formulation, and Virgin Oil analysis has shown that it's not identical.
As far as the filters sold by Napa. Yes they are made by WIX. But only the Napa "gold" filter is the same as a Wix branded filter. All the non "gold" napa filters are of a lower quality that Wix doesn't even sell directly.

If the bottle says it meets the GM standard for the Vette, then I don't see why you couldn't use it.

I would but Walmart or NAPA synthetic oil for my 20 year old Mazda MX6 GT, but not for my 37,000 mile C5.

$2.99 for a full Synthetic 5w30? Sounds a little on the low side for a synthetic. But anything you get for nothing is usually worth it.
