I killed my car today - and CRAINHOLIO SAVES THE DAY
Here's the deal,
99 m6
Driving locally all day long, I make a left from a stop sign and launched it really hard, hit about 4500 RPM in first and the car bucked real hard (like I either hit the rev limiter or the car ran out of fuel) and died. Coasted to side of the road and it would just crank. Nothing else.
Troubleshoot:
OK no codes when i turn the key on; I checked all the relays/fuses under the hood and I hear the fuel pump turning on when I turn the key to the on position; The car has a 1/4 tank of fuel.
Maybe no spark???
What do you guys think? Any help appreciated. Even if I mentioned it above tell me what I should be looking for and I will troubleshoot again.

How does the cranking sound?? Like normal or does it sound like it's just free wheeling in there? Have you verified valvetrain movement (had someone look into the oil cap hole while cranking to verify valves are moving?)???

I have not verified valvetrain movement. I have never had experience with this motor to know whether or not the cranking sounds normal. I'm going to go and crank the car verify valvetrain movement. what will verifying this determine or not determine? (bear with me guys just trying to learn)

No codes when he turned the key on, not when you actually check for them ?
Make sure you have the door shut.
The "diagnostic display" mode is entered with the following procedure:
1. Turn on the ignition but don't start the engine.
2. Press the "reset" button to turn off any warning messages
3. Press and hold "options" and
4. While holding "options", press "fuel" four times within a 10-second period.
Make sure you have the door shut.

I'm assuming I have fuel pressure because the fuel pumps are humming under the car when I turn the car on but I can't be completely sure. I really don't want to start opening the fuel system yet though and I don't have the necessary equipment to diagnose the fuel system properly.
The car shutoff abruptly while accelerating so I'm little baffled at this point.
I have not pulled the spark plugs to see if I have spark yet. I was hoping it was something simple.
My original thought was the car just shut down to protect itself and something needs to be reset on the car. Idk, it's just not making sense to me right now.

Pumps humming does NOT guarantee fuel pressure-check the BASICS 1st, fuel and SPARK.
