Default 98 Drivers side power window motor bad

I'm getting power to the motor but no action. Can the motor assembly be removed without taking out the window regulator?
Thanks,
Ed

I removed the connector from the motor and read volttage in both up and down so I concluded the motor is dead. How do I get the motor out?

I would be happy to help you out with new, but GM only sells with the regulator. The reason is, normally if the motor goes, not too long after that so does the regulator.

I had some luck. Tapped the motor with a small hobby hammer (love tap) and it started working. Now I want to put the door panel on and I need the big grayish black rubber/vinll cover that I removed to look inside the door replaced. Mine fell apart. Anyone know what to call it and where to get one?
