Corvette Intro Message with YOUR NAME in DIC
I thought I heard somewhere that you can program C5's to display your name on start up in the DIC. True or False? (If True.... HOW??)

Before you start lamenting over not being able to personalize your DIC like on the C6's.......
C6 owners cannot pull codes, add a key fob, or retrain their TPMS like you can on a C5. Personally I'd rather be able to do those things myself than find someone with the scan tool.

I seriously doubt that would change it.

C6's can't check their codes through the DIC? that blows!
the only way you're going to change the message on the C5 would be to get access to the code that runs in the BCM, modify it, recompile it, and download it. theoretically possible but nearly impossible. you'd have to have some connections at GM. not worth it unfortunately!

Yes it does. Put the key in the ignition and turn it to on, dont start it. The DIC will read Corvette by Chevrolet or Chevrolet Corvette. Cant remember which one it is but it reads something like that.

False. That feature didn't happen until the C6s came out.
