Default Code ZR6 ?

What exactly does this code indicate? My research says "show car." WTH does that mean?

RPO code ZR6 means the car was built to be a GM display vehicle, usually for one of the annual "new car" auto shows held in the major cities.

After serving display duty, a dealer would get the car and they were usually then sold as new.

All in all, nothing really special about these cars, although one might guess this code was designated for production purposes so that it received a little more attention to fit/finish details? Who knows...

... and about 10000 people sat in it over a few month period..

But it is unique that YOUR car was used and displayed to showcase the Corvette.. pretty cool in my book!
