Can anyone provide me with a GMVIS or GM VIS (GM Vehicle History Report) Not sure how it is spelled.

Or any other report that can give me info on a C5 - I just put a down payment on a C5 Torch Red Vette with only 24,000 miles on it from a private party and he'll deliver it tomorrow. Has a few flaws (spider web crack on deck lid about 3 ") and a worn Right Rear tire - but only cosmetic (minor) probs.

The service department of any GM dealer, should be able to run the vin and give you a print out of the service history.

Thank You sooo Much Vettesur - I knew there were VERY KIND and Helpful people on this forum. Thank you so much. The guy is supposed to bring it to my house today if all goes well with him paying the balance off at his credit union and getting the Title in hand.

I hope I am getting a good Deal - It is a 99 Torch Red with Performance Gears, Auto, HUD, ect - 24,000 Miles for $15,500

It needs a right rear tire (it's bald) and the top horitontal section of the rear bumper cover has some spider web cracks about 5 inches long (he bumped in to a dumpster) Other tires about 50% tread left.

Well - I shouldn't get my hopes up because deals have fallen thru for me one way or another in the past - so we will see if all goes well.

yea, I'd ask more questions first.
Looks like it has been serviced somewhere other than the GM dealer for the last 5 years. Ask for service records.
It certainly started out like a Friday afternoon built car with all the battery problems.

You could be okay but I would definitely ak more questions about where it has been serviced for the last five years.

There's a long list of nothing much there. That shouldn't deter you from buying this car. That's nothing and it was all fixed under warranty...

Mine had more problems than that before I bought it and I've had no real problems since I bought it.

Well Guys - I bought it and the transaction went smoothly - Got the Title and Registered it into my name today. I'm now the happy owner of a Torch Red C5 Corvette. My little boy likes it cuz it looks like Lightning McQueen (if you don't have kids you don't know what that means I'm sure - lol) I'm a single Dad of a 8 year old boy.

I agree that the listed items that got repaired are so minor (nothing major like trans probs, diff probs or head or valve or crank problems - not even an alternator or starter or water pump problem listed here) - The original owner was a Female who drove it 6 miles a day to her job at Disneyland and sold it with only 18,000 miles to her Pastor at Church who had it 4 or 5 years and put only about 6,000 miles on it. I bought it from the original owners Pastor. Maybe the young lady who originally had it was to blame for the draining of the battery ? Who knows. It is fixed now and drove great tonight.

My 8 year old boy and I have been cruising in it for the last 2 hours looking at Christmas Lights in neighborhoods. I love the car.

I have to get that Right Rear Tire replaced (it's bald)- Oh Gosh - How Much will ONE Goodyear run flat tire cost me ? They won't give me the 4 tire discount I am sure ?

I Noticed the preverbial drivers seat rocking. I will have to look up on the Forum how to address that or just live with it.

I want to shine it up -Any suggestions on BRand and Type of wax, polish, or whatever ?
I heard something about clay - But I have absolutly no idea what that means or where to get it. I have a Pep Boys and a Kragen nearby - Do those places have what I need for the ultimate shine on Torch Red ?

It needs Chrome wheels - has the original silver finish (painted) wagon wheels.

THis car has had NO Upgrades or molestations at all - IT IS A VIRGIN with only 24,000 Miles. Not even tint on the windows. Totally Original !

Looking forward to all the input I can get. (Wax ? Tire Cost? Rocking Seat ? ect)

I'd look into Michellin Pilot Sport AS Plus ZP tires.

Claybar is a detailing putty that removes junk from the surface of the paint. You can buy any one of a number of brands. I would highly recommend it. I like Adams Polishes myself but there are lots of good product lines out there. If you go out to Youtube and do a search for JUNKMAN2008, he has many DIY videos on how to do just about anything you would like as far as Clay, polish, buff, etc. Adams Polishes has a forum as well to ask and get info on anything detail related.
