Default Cig lighter does not work, but one in console does...

I checked both fuses and they are both perfectly fine. I had my radar plugged into the cig one, but i unplugged it for something then plugged back in and nothing. Usually when this happens the fuse would pop but this time it didnt. I took the radar and plugged into the console one and it worked perfectly fine. I have yet to take apart the center console to check connection on the back but i doubt that could be the problem. I just recently took it apart to lay dynamat in. Was working for a good week. Any ideas besides checking the connection?

I had the same problem. The connector on the back came off. Mine happened after installing a HUD.

Having the same exact problem and my connection IS fine. Just installed a short throw and made sure that the connection was on tight. Can someone post pictures of where to look for the fuse?

Its #7 on the fuse panel on passenger side by the feet. Pull carpet back and remove foot panel then you'll have access to the fuse box. If you look on the cover that you removed you should see #7 cig/lghtr or something like that.

Like stated above you will need to pull the bezel and check the connection there had mine come loose but it's an easy fix

Thanks,Matt

Get yourself a volt/ohm meter and make sure you have power to the connector. No power would most likely be blown fuse. Power to the connector means bad cig lighter unit. They do in fact go bad from time to time.

Could be that the unit that the wires plug into is bad. If you have power up to the wire connector but not to the cig lighter itself, then there you have the solution.

Had this issue too. It was the fuse. Separate fuse. On a side note, I don't smoke so I never tried the cigarette lighter. Looking at the lighter itself it looks like it has never been used. Anyway, some guy asked me for a light and we tried to use the lighter in the car and it would pop and get kind of hot, but not actually enough to light the cigarette. LOL I told the guy "It's a sign to quit."

Mine was intermittent....I reached back behind it, found the wire and just gave it a little twist, and has been working fine.
