auto transporters from uhaul
Does anyone or has anyone used a uhaul auto transporter to haul their vette on. I believe mine has been lowered on stock bolts, even if it was stock height uhaul states it would be a problem loading the vehicle onto the trailer, looking for any ideas of how to solve this if I choose to bring my baby back to Texas to drive for the last couple of monthes before moving back to Alabama for a couple more years before retiring from the Army.
Thanks

i don't care for the "drag behind" type...w only the front wheels dragging the car along...may be ok for some type of cars....but I wouldn't even consider towing my vette that way!
if it was a reglar trailer...where I could pull the vette up on it (all 4 wheels off the ground)...that would be a different story.

Ask around...borrow a good car trailer
Consider borrowing a suitable trailer from someone you know. This forces you to drive both ways, but it would work. Contact your local Corvette Club and talk with them about it...if you join and let them know you're moving a car in the next few months I'll bet you get a ton of help!
Another guy on here backed his trailer up to a curb and put the ramps up on the curb so he could drive onto the trailer without bottoming out the front or high centering the car.
Good luck!

Safety Car
I used a uhaul car trailer a couple years ago when I moved, my car was stock height then and they told me it wouldnt fit.
It fit fine, it was snug but had no problems on the 1300km journey.

thanks for the info
zI will explore options, I had a special lowered trailer that I bought on the way out here in 2006, but sold it because I did not have storage space at the time. I am pretty sure after loading my 1950 ford F1 today that the same type of uhaul trailer will hold my vette will take some measurements before giving it up, and measuer the vette as well the front of my old truck is pretty low as well and it did not drag. So wish me luck guys in about 4 weeks will be motoring around in my baby, and will be loading a truck with my stuff, and dragging the baby back to Alabama.
Again thanks

I used a U-Haul car carrier trailer when I moved from FL to KY two years ago. I found a sloped section of driveway or solid footing to which I backed the trailer to level out the approach for loading. The carrier worked great with a good "fit" and no issues. If you use any carrier, with straps that go over the tires of the car for stability, make certain to check these on a regular basis, since I had one strap become a little loose after a stretch of rough highway in GA. And, it was rough with a great deal of construction.
Good luck with whatever carrier you chose. Bronk
