Baby's got New Shoes... and Socks!
This is the third year I've owned my 2000 Coupe. I bought it figuring I'd need new tires last year, but squeezed one more year out of it before breaking down this spring.
The previous owner outfitted the car with a set of '01 Z06 rims and the accompanying Goodyear F1 Supercar tires, sway bars and aligned it to the Z06 specs. I loved everything about the way it drove and handled, so saw no need to change things up.
Ordered the tires from Tire Rack and they shipped to a local dealer. I also found what I thought was a very solid deal on red calipers on eBay, so I picked those up and yesterday, I dropped it off to have tires mounted and balanced, calipers installed and alignment set to the '01 Z06 specs.
Note: If anyone needs the stock set of calipers, PM me. They're available on the cheap.
Some had mentioned I may see a difference in noise levels with the new rubber, but I have to say, there is virtually no difference at all in the noise generated by the tires. Frankly, I was a little surprised to see the depth of the treads on the new tires was even less than what I'd expected them to be - so even though the old tires were worn pretty well, the new tires aren't so deep that you'd get a huge hum off the road anyway.
At any rate, I am very pleased with the results. Some before and after pics:

All in all, a very nice upgrade to my way of thinking, although it was a fairly expensive couple of days!!!
Safe Miles,
Dave

Looking good and the new calipers makes a nice visual statement.

Looks much better.

What kind of good deal did you get on the calipers? I can't spend what the catalogs want for the Z06 calipers. Mine are painting but starting to show their age.

By the way, anyone doing a rebuild, I have the original calipers available on the cheap, with just under 50K on them.
Thanks for your feedback, one and all.
