Default Question,Lowering on Stock Bolts with F45 Suspension

I lowered the rear last week, all the way on stock bolts barley saw any difference, is it suppose to be like this with the F45's. Anyone else have this problem? Any idea what i can do to lower it more? Buy 8 inch bolts?

I have an F45 coupe, i lowered the car on stock bolts and it's a bigger difference than yours. Perhaps drive it around for a couple of days and let the car settle. Then check it as it should drop more. Dont forget to get an alignment.

the drop was about half inch on driver side and maybe about 1/4 of inch on passenger side, so do i even need a alinment done with such a small drop?

Did this last Thursday, probably put solid 40 miles on the car since.

some people say put on a few hundred miles to let it settle. yup need an alignment always unless you dont care about your tires.

I have a question for you guys on the f45. I removed my computer for the shocks because it wasnt working, and removed the codes. What happens that Im riding on the f45 shocks that have no electronic control right now? My car is lowered all the way on stock bolts too. It drives fine does feel a little floaty but always has

Mine went real low when I went to the max on stock bolts, drive it more and if it does not go lower then new bolts will do the trick

Guys, can someone tell me how to go about doing this mod? I am new to the corvette platform, been playing with camaros for years. In those cars you need springs to drop them. Thanks........

^ Nope really easy to do, do a search on "how to lower" basically put some pressure on the front spring and crank down on the front bolts with a 10mm or 8mm wrench I believe. The rears are easier just one socket on top and one bottom and again crank down. I suggest a PB blaster soak before doing it.

To the op something isn't right but my car is lowered all the way on stock front bolts and rear bolts and that thing is sitting right above the tire. I to have teh f45 suspension. I would invest in a lifetime alignment trust me it's worth it.

Thanks for the reply! Is the ride alot different? Harder or does it bottom out more, since there is less travel? Thanks again.....

Here's my car maxed out on factory bolts and F45. I drove it around for a few hours and then got an alignment a few days afterwards.

Ride quality is noticeable over ruff surfaces the car sounds like it's gonna shake apart but that's also due to the cheap GM plastic used inside.. I also did the C6 Z51 sway bars and poly and I have to say I love the way she feels and handles though. The only issue is having to watch what you drive over because the rocker panels scrape over a high speed bump unless you take it at a angle and crawl over it. Same with dips I always get people honking at me because they think I'm some old guy driving 2mph over a bump when in fact I'm trying not to damage anything. It has it's pros and cons but I'm saving up for coilovers now. Hope that helps if you have any more q's pm me. Don't wanna keep hijacking the op's thread.

I lowered mine on the stock F45 shocks and the ride was pathetic. It bounced all over and was embarrassing to give people rides. I immediately made the change to coilovers and it's the best thing I've done to the car yet!

Lowered front, back and side to side. And FWIW, the ride doesn't feel much different in my car accept that it feels more planted.

I just lowered my wife's 01 f45 and it only took a small drive around the block. I got about an inch and a quarter lower in the rear and about one inch lower in the front. The ride is better believe it or not. Then I got it aligned. The vette looks alot better.

WTF!! What is wrong with my car? This is so frustrating, I hate the gap between the tires and the car. Is geting longer bolts and lowering on those my
only option beside coilovers?

I have a 04 also. I lowered it last year on the stock bolts and my front end did not go as low as my wife's 01. I don't know why. It lowered only a half inch in the front. But my rear lowered about a inch and a quarter. I'm going to get a lowering kit this year for my 04. Can't have the wife's vette look Better then mine LOL. I have the Z51suspension and the wife's vette has the F45 sus and her car sits lower then mine.

not trying to insult you, but are you sure you lowered it and didn't raise it? It's easy to do. How many threads are showing above the nut on the top? It should only be 2 or 3.
