Default Musty smell from A.C......any suggestions

I bought my 2001 Z06 in August and noticed that the AC smells very musty.
Could that be from condensation in the vents?
Any suggestions on how to get rid of it?

My first thought is Cabin Air Filter. (But to be honest, I don't know if C5's have one!)

I changed the CAF in my Grand Prix and the smell immediately went away. It was black with mildew!!! (Just to be on the safe side, I sprayed the ducts with Lysol also).

You can also try 1Z Einszett Klima-Cleaner...

AutoGeek carries it.

The car has no cabin filter. The car pulls in outside air from the cowl beneath the windshield wipers and the actual vent is located below the window on the passenger side. I got a rat's nest in the blower and had to remove the entire dash and airbag to get to the blower and it is a major PITA. You could try some febreeze sprayed inside the vents but it is tough to fix without pulling it apart to see what the source of the smell is.

Check the cowl drains under the hood by the firewall. Make sure they are not plugged or have rotting vegetation in the rubber drain tubes.

FrigiFresh by BG products. Used by many professional shops. Follow directions on can. (may have to apply more than once). Has never failed for me.

Okay, here is the first things to do.

First, get in there and check your "udders." They are located on the firewall inside the engine compartment. I believe there are three of them. Do a search, you will get pics and everything.

Then, each time you run your AC, the last mile of your return trip, turn the compressor OFF and run you fan on HI. This will help to eliminate the smell.

I had this same exact problem, and the second method solved it completely.

Good Luck
