For those of you who has a AC Delco battery in your C5 which model number do you have? And does AC Delco sell a gel filled battery?

AC/Delco 7 year Professional Series battery in my 02 coupe, 68 big block and my p/u truck. Excellent battery. Don't know if they offer a gel style battery.

As to gel style, the dealer showed me 4 different batteries and none of them were identified as gel style.

AC Delco stopped selling AGM batteries in 2004. My guess is that cars (like Corvettes) that often sit for extended periods do not match up well with AGM-type batteries. GM installed AC Delco AGM batteries in 2001-2003 C5s and those of us who drive their cars often and for long enough distances benefitted from 7+ years of battery life. Unfortunately, those who left their cars inactive, found that AGM batteries die very quickly under those circumstances.
Non-AGM batteries seem to be able to take periods of inactivity without suffering fatal damage and the 2005+ AC Delco Professional batteries are exceptionally durable. I have the 7YR model and expect at least 7 years of life out of it. The unique thing about it is that it comes with a 50 month free-replacement warranty - best in the business.
Now for those of you on a limited budget, the Costco Kirkland battery (about $60) represents a great value.

I've got the professional platinum 7-YR battery; came with 50 month replacement and prorated after that. Paid about $120 IIRC a few months back. It cured all my intermittent issues with memory seats, etc.

AC-Delco Professional 78-6YR/7YR Series (must have 120 reserve capacity) replaces the first generation and AGM battery in the C5. Nice thing it runs around $106 and comes with a 30/50 month free replacement. 04's get a different battery.

I replaced mine with ACDelco Part Number: 78-6YR. This is a 6 year battery with 700 cca and costs lest than Part Number: ACD78-60 which is a 5 year battery with only 670 cca. Sometimes just can't figure GM's pricing out?
