The before picture looks like it had already had some darkening done to the taillights. Mine look like the before picture of yours and I have one coat of Niteshades on them. I have 2 coats on the side marker lights and they look like the after pictures of your car.

no they never were darkened it was just a weird angle, they look super dark now but its cause there was a low amount of light and my iphone doesnt take the best pictures in low light.

your car looks good BTW

How is the light output during the day time with them? It seems really dark and the stock ones aren't that bright to begin with...

with the running lights on they are kind of dim. but with brake lights on they are very noticeable.

I was following a C5 of a fellow club member one day and I could hardly see his brake lights come on, Sure they look good, But I feel they are a safety concern.
I would say the dark reduced the light by 50% or more.
