Default Kenwood 2011

The new KEnwood 2011 single and double din info. I will be taking preorders very soon to allow you to be one of the first to get the newest from Kenwood.

Please watch for more info and pricing.

Kenwood Introduces New Kenwood eXcelon Multimedia / Navigation Products For 2011

LONG BEACH, CA (Car Entertainment) -- Las Vegas, NV (January 6, 2011) - Kenwood USA Corporation announced the introduction of three premium in-car multimedia systems specifically engineered and manufactured exclusively for the Kenwood Excelon dealer network. All models feature the latest in entertainment technologies, with the two navigation models offering direct control over Pandora internet radio when linked to an enabled iPhone (Internet access required).

For 2011, Kenwood introduces a new flagship double-DIN multimedia / navigation receiver, the DNX9980HD ($2,000.00 suggested retail price), which is Kenwood’s first multimedia model to incorporate HD Radio as a built-in feature. Along with better sound quality and additional HD Radio-specific programming, the user can enjoy full-color album artwork and other visuals appearing on the touchscreen display. Advanced 3-D navigation technology by Garmin is included, offering three-dimensional buildings and landmarks with many images being photo-realistic. Lane Assist with Junction View are two features that reduce highway interchange confusion and improve driving safety. ecoRoute provides the most fuel efficient travel routes, and the optional ecoRoute HD even allows the user to view vehicle diagnostics such as fuel consumption, engine temperature and exhaust emissions (ecoRoute HD requires the optional KNA-EC100 external ODBII interface module). The DNX9980HD also includes built-in NAVTEQ Live Traffic service that is free for the life of the product. Kenwood’s voice control feature allows the user to fully operate the navigation system and utilize features such as entering addresses or phone numbers, choosing menu options and select points of interest. The voice control system will also operate the audio and video systems, allowing the user to change between multiple sources, access entries in a cellular phonebook, make phone calls, seek out music and video files and access station presets. Twin iPod control allows for the connection and operation of two iPod, iPod Touch or iPhone devices.

The DNX9980HD has an advanced Digital Aria 3-D animated graphic user interface (GUI) with selectable skins and movable, drag-and-drop icons for complete customization. A high-resolution WVGA 6.95” touchscreen with Dynamic Brightness Control provides the best looking DVD video, iPod video and USB video. While in the navigation mode, the DNX9980HD can display mapping information as well as audio/video controls on a split screen and will even allow continued monitoring of the navigation screen in split screen view while making or taking hands-free phone calls. The latest Parrot Bluetooth module is built into the DNX9980HD and is capable of A2DP stereo audio streaming from a similarly-equipped portable digital media player or Smartphone.

The double-DIN DNX6980 ($1,300.00 suggested retail price) is a value-added combination of cutting edge technologies, intuitive user interface and great Kenwood Excelon quality. With the Garmin navigation and Parrot Bluetooth built right into the unit, the DNX6980 offers the latest in technologies at an attractive price. A compact front-panel **** is included to easily control volume. An upgraded 6.1” WVGA LCD touch screen panel with navigation/audio/video split screen view capabilities give the user complete control over multiple audio and video sources, including DVD, MP3/WMA compact disc, iPod, iPhone, Pandora internet radio link, external mass storage devices, satellite radio and HD Radio (optional iPod, HD Radio or satellite radio accessories and Internet access may be required). The user can customize the GUI and hard-key illumination colors of the DNX6980 to match the unit’s faceplate lighting to the interior lighting of many vehicles, while the background and startup screen graphics can be changed to show personal photos or the brand logo of the vehicle.

The Kenwood Excelon KVT-696 ($950.00 suggested retail price) single-DIN DVD receiver offers a 7” WQVGA flip-out screen powered by Kenwood’s time-tested Z-Action Mechanism. The KVT-696 shares some of the source icon customization and audio/video features as the more expensive DNX6980 with the exception of built-in Garmin navigation, Pandora link and Bluetooth. The optional KNA-G610 ($600.00 suggested retail price) is a hideaway module for those customers who wish to add Garmin navigation to the KVT-696 at a later time.

The DNX9980HD, DNX6980 and KVT-696 come with two-year warranties and are available only through authorized Kenwood Excelon retailers.

Kenwood Introduces New High Performance CD Receivers With Many Connectivity Options

LONG BEACH, CA (Car Entertainment) -- Las Vegas, NV (January 6, 2011) - Kenwood USA Corporation announced the introduction of five high-performance CD receivers that contain advanced built-in technologies intended for tech-savvy consumers.
The KDC-BT948HD ($350.00 suggested retail price) has a built-in combination of Bluetooth, HD Radio and Pandora internet radio link, making the KDC-BT948HD a standout model that truly fits the audio enthusiast lifestyle. The upgraded audio and data service features of HD Radio take full advantage of the audio performance and large display of the KDC-BT948HD. Pandora internet radio can now be controlled and viewed via the front panel of the KDC-BT948HD (or via iPhone), adding to driver safety and convenience (Internet access is required). Through wireless connection via Bluetooth, full names and numbers from a cell phone’s address book can be seen on the 5-line variable color LCD display, which has easier visibility and faster scrolling of multiple names and numbers as well as music files. Selectable text sizing allows the option to choose larger text or a higher quantity of text depending on user preference. This flexible, multi-lingual display gives the KDC-BT948HD the ability to easily operate external media devices such as USB, iPod, iTouch, iPhone, and content from satellite radio or Pandora internet radio (optional iPod or satellite radio accessories may be required). A unique master control center with volume **** duplicates many of the functions of the iPod for more intuitive operation.

The KDC-BT948HD can also integrate with existing steering wheel controls through a special wired interface (optional adapter might be required), maintaining driver safety and convenience. The KDC-BT948HD has three 4.0 volt preamp outputs with low-pass and high-pass filtering on board.

The KDC-BT848U ($270.00 suggested retail price) offers built-in Bluetooth and a dedicated front panel key that is reserved for wireless cell phone operation. An external Bluetooth microphone can be placed in an optimal location within the vehicle for improved hands-free communication. Adding to the safety factor is a three-line display that can be switched to a larger font, two-line format for easier reading of phone numbers, music and source data. Variable color illumination of the display and backlit keys allow the user to match the color of the KDC-BT848U to the dashboard lighting of almost any vehicle. With front panel mounted USB and 3.5mm auxiliary inputs, the KDC-BT848U can conveniently connect to a wide variety of portable devices such as iPod, iTouch, iPhone, thumb drive and portable mass storage. The KDC-BT648U ($230.00 suggested retail price) has the performance and functionality of the KDC-BT848U with the exception of variable color illumination and is equipped with a built-in Bluetooth microphone and 13 segment, single-line display.

A new integrated HD Radio solution for 2011 is the KDC-HD548U ($200.00 suggested retail price). The KDC-HD548U is the successor to last year’s industry-leading HD Radio model, the sales of which gave Kenwood the top-selling in-dash player with an integrated HD Radio tuner from April through October 2010, based on unit and dollar volume according to the NPD Group’s Retail Tracking Service. With built-in HD Radio, the KDC-HD548U gives the user a full digital radio experience. iTunes Tagging is made easy through pressing a dedicated button near the volume control. A front-panel USB input and stereo mini-plug auxiliary input allows for the playback of a wide variety of external media. And Mixed-Preset Memory gives the user one-touch direct access to selected AM, FM, HD Radio or iPod content.

The KDC-BT948HD, KDC-BT848U, KDC-BT648U and KDC-HD548U are covered by a one-year manufacturer’s limited warranty and are available through authorized Kenwood retailers.

Maybe I'm missing something but there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference between the DNX6980 and the DNX7180 other than screen size and price. Are there any other key differences?
