Default Fixed My seat

Using 'Sliebl' and 'Janster' method and theradioflyer's nylon spacers I fixed my rocking seat

Only problem I had was the T40 bit I have is a long one but that with a wrench still broke it loose. Also you can shorten the procedure to 3 bolts. The T40 and the 2 T25 bolts that hold the aluminum block in place. No need to disconnect the 90deg unit the square coupling comes out easy enough just put it into the jack screw when you re install it and if it doesn't pop back in just twist it a bit with some needle nose pliers. The hardest part was getting the plug back onto the clip on the seat rail I suggest pulling it off (it is a pop in Christmas tree type) while the seat is out install it on the plug then pop it back into the rail AFTER the plugs are back together. I took me about 45 min.
Oh and WHAT RUBBER SPACER? All I had left was a rubber film.Works great now and easy out is re enabled. Nice and tight no movement. I will get the passenger side when it warms up. I think radioflyers spacers are the way to go I know they are a bit pricey but they fit perfectly.Don't cha just love that feeling of a job well done? I redid the air dam too I am gonna run out of projects pretty soon I guess I will just have to

Nice work! I actually did the same thing on my passenger seat this afternoon. I had done my driver seat a couple years ago with the old method by sanding and trimming nylon washers until they fit. This time, I used the kit from West Coast Corvette to save me the hour I spent sanding the washers last time. Worked great. I'm not sure why they used rubber in the spacers in the first place. Grease degrades rubber, so it's only a matter of time before they fail.

Good to hear how well it works. I have a set of theradioflyers washers just in case my seats ever develop the rocking seat syndrome.

Well Doc you at least have something there. Mine looked like someone painted the aluminum. All I found was 1 little chunk of rubber. Jack yes they do work very nice no playing around sanding your finger tips off.

Did the other side tonight, caveat on the 3 bolt method it may take a little twisting to get the jack screw to fall into place onto the flexible link to the 90deg drive. I actually did have to loosen one side to get it in on this one. Much better on the harness though pulling the clip plug from the seat and putting it on the harness clip in the car. Made reconnecting the harness a breeze this time.

Pulling that clip off was the worst part...
