turn the headlights on and then back to parking lights. Mine always stay up like that until the parking lights are turned off too.

If you want them up with out having the parking lights on I believe you can use the manual **** on each motor.

Add those to the list of things I'm missing.

That's not going to work either as the headlamp control module will send the command to close them when the ignition is turned off next or I think it will. Also, to get them into the mode the OP requested, everyone who responded is correct but need to tell the OP that if he's got the twighlight sentinel, it needs to be turned off in the DIC

Why would you want them up with the lights off?

Turn the lights on engage the emergency brake. When you turn off the ignition the lights should turn off but stay up.

Interesting. I need to try that.

In answer to an earlier post, sometimes I want the lights up after I've turned off the car/ignition in order to remove the light bezels and work on the lights, reach down to the fogs, etc., without having to unhook the negative battery cable or rotate the lights by hand.

I also have ACA HIDs and I think it would be cool to leave them up at shows, etc. without the lights on/up alert dinging...

You can also turn the headlights on so they pop up and then take the fuse out and turn them back off.

I just tried this technique and it works! Lights stay up/off with no dinging after removing the key.

Ding-Ding-Ding....We have a winner!

I love the fact that even after 6 years, I still don't know all the little C5 tricks.

Be careful you don't get your arms caught in there

Very true. These lights are so quirky in terms of electrical loads signalling them to turn on/off, go up/down, it would probably be a good idea to disconnect the negative battery cable before reaching my hand down there to do some work.

Especially with all the HID/LED mods I've performed.

Whoa, that's a great tip. I want to keep the lights up for cleaning but don't want to run down the battery by leaving the parking lights on. Now I know how. Thanks

Maybe I'm just dumb, but I don't follow the parking brake trick.

If I turn the lights on, engage the parking brake, and cut the car off my lights will stay on. If I turn them to parking lights, they stay up and go off, but the parking lights stay on. If I turn them completely off they go down.
