Every time you hear that "scrape" when you are driving your C5 around town, odds are that you are slowly eating up your lower air dam spoiler. The flexible plastic can resist this abuse, but over time it begins to warp, bend and ultimately falls off.
If your air dam is currently warped or damaged, it is very important to have it replaced. The spoiler actually creates negative pressure under the car funneling the air to the radiator. In addition, a damaged spoiler will lead to hotter engine temps and reduced performance!
If you haven't taken a look at yours yet, might want to before these sell out at this price. These are also great to have on hand when it is time for replacement (it will happen!)

What is the primary difference compared to the OEM stock air dam set? Are these stronger, the same material, etc.?

The roads here in East TN are rough on not only the air dam but the bottom of my front bumper....I scrape twice everytime I leave my house...hits coming out of the driveway then again when I turn onto the main road...tried every approach and still scrapes.....
I need to get a new air dam but sure hard to spend $$ on something you know will be scratched soon after installing...
....seems like a good price though...
