How To Replace Brakes and Rotors

Thinking about attempting this.... I see from previous thread replies that breaking a bracket bolt is a possibility. Anyone know the spec on the bolts? Are they special, or are they something available at Fastenal or another similar place?

Yes DeeGee it help tremendously. This was the first time I've ever replace Rotors and pads. I followed your instructions and replace all 4 rotors and pads in less than an hour. As I stated the breaker bar and extension pipe helped me remove the bracket bolts with little resistance. Again thanks for providing your instructions and photos they were right on.

Glad I came across this post. It has more detailed information than any YouTube vid or manual that I have found. I have new brake pads coming so I'll be referencing this when it comes time to swap them out. In the mean time I was going to adjust my E brake since it was not holding my car from rolling forward when parked on a hill. For some reason it does hold and prevent my car from rolling forward.
If you know, which way is the star wheel adjusted to increase tension (clockwise or counter clockwise?
Tks,
Doug

Great post! Hopefully someone sees this even though it's been years since last updated. How do you use the torch to heat up the bolts? Meaning - where do you direct the flame, and how long do you need to heat it? do you direct the flame to the head of the bolt?
Thanks!
Thanks!
