C5 Corvette Lower Front Spoiler Replacement Kit

These C5 Corvette Front Spoilers in urethane give your Corvette a factory-fresh appearance and restore proper air flow through your radiator, solving many cooling problems. Our C5 Corvette Front Spoilers mount in the factory locations. You can use your original hardware but if it is missing or damaged you can add a hardware kit.

Your 3-piece spoiler's center piece is spring-loaded and can bounce right back in place, however, the left and right sections are not, which means they could rip off altogether if you hit a bumper block or curb. To alleviate this, we introduce the Corvette Spoiler Reinforcement Kit. These black, ABS plastic brackets take the brunt of a bump and prevent bolts from sliding through, keeping your spoiler securely in place. Kit includes one left and one right bracket and installs easily using existing fasteners.

This spoiler kit will fit 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 C5 Corvette, including base, coupe, convertible and Z06.

Normal price: $100.00
Sale price: $94.95
Forum price: $85.46 (enter coupon code SS2007 at checkout)

Available here: http://rpidesigns.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=1905

Thanks!!

Easy install while your car is tucked away for the winter!

can you explain how the reinforcement kit works? the description is kinda sketchy.is it a bracket that goes on top of the front bumper cover to sandwich it between the reinforcement and the air dam? will it correct the sagging of the side portions?

Thank you for asking the reinforcement kit or the plates you get attaches on the bottom of the mounting bolts to the 2 side pieces so it adds more support or strength to the two sides. I guess you can look at it as adding big washers to a bolt so it would prevent the bolt being pulled through a hole. As far as the sagging issues you have to see if the attaching points underneath your car is possibly stretched out or uneven?? if that looks ok and the two side pieces are stretched out then the new front spoiler and the reinforcement kit will do the trick. Thanks, Don

If I am assessing this correctly, the product is made up of abs, coated with urethane.
Is this correct?
Being non rubber as the stock ones, and obviously hard like abs, I would think they would have a tendency to crack if they were to come in contact with something like a parking curb.
Can you explain this a little further?
I would hate to get them, and find that they cracked because of what I stated above.
This would be a real concern for me.

Hi Bob, the 3 pieces are made up of urethane, it is the reinforcement brackets that are sold seperately that are made of abs plastic. Thanks, Don Reminder if you use coupon codde RPIDON5 you save 5%

Now, I am more confused than ever.
Let me get this straight.
You are selling a reinforcement kit made of abs.
I take reinforcement to mean adding more protection to an existing object.
In other words, you are making an existing product stronger by adding reinforcing to it.

Does this kit replace the stock kit, or is it just an abs cover that installs over the stock kit?
Which ever it is, being abs,it is more than likely going to split if it comes in contact with a hard surface.
Could you explain a bit more for we who just don't get the principal of what it is you are selling?

Thanks,

Bob.

The reinforcing strips install between the bolts that hold the spoiler on and the spoiler. It acts like a large washer to spread the load out when you hit something so that the bolts do not pull through the spoiler allowing it to fall off.

I'm not understanding the reinforcement brackets - I did not see them pictured on your website. I like the idea of reinforcement but don't see the difference between this and other kits avail. Any clarification would greatly be appreciated! Thanks.

So, to clear this up, you are selling just the two end pieces that will reinforce the existing end pieces.

What threw me, and others off is you pictured the entire 3 piece kit.

I already fixed the problem by adding larger washers to all bolts for the end pieces, and that seems to be working fine.

These are the reinforcement brackets, not required but certainly helps when hitting a speed bump for example.
