Default LED Tail Light Tinting

Just looking to see some pics of tinted LED tail lights. I'm trying to determine whether I want tint and if so, to what degree. I would really like to compare the untinted vs a stage 1 and a stage 2.

Thanks

I have some tinted LED's that will be delivered today from JW Motoring. They're out for delivery and I'm looking forward to seeing them and putting them on.

I did mine myself with VHT NightShades paint. 2 coats plus 3 coats of Krylon Crystal Clear.

Just as a warning, once they're done, it's difficult if not impossible to go back. I don't think you could get all the paint off.

That's why I'm trying to get a good grip on what will suit my needs ahead of time. I just want to do it right the first time.

steps
1. wetsand lights with 2000grit wet/dry, clean lights well let dry.
2. spray 2-3 light coats nightshades letting dry 5-10min in between coats.
3. after allowing time to fully dry wetsand again 2000 grit. I also use maguires ultimate compound at this step after the wet sand. Clean well let dry.
4. 2-4 coats clear coat i used duplicolor perfect match clear. also let dry 5-10min between coats.
5. after totally dry next day wetsand 2000 grit and buff out with the ultimate compound again.

Do a test run on your stock lights or get a set of lights cheap and practice first!

Here's s pic of mine BEFORE the clear coat went on. You might also notice I did the back-up lights with a couple coats.

I won't be doing the tinting myself. Once I decide on how much tint I want, I will be ordering them from a forum vendor who will do it for me.

i just got an email from JW telling me that the halo modding is completed and they will be tinted starting today. i went with the high gloss, lightly tinted "selection" as i didn't want them to completely disappear during the day except when they were on. check out his website he as a variety of photos (and i think a video) that should halp you. i can't wait to get them and put them on. i'm sure they will be a great change from my regular bulb tinted lenses now.
