Default DIY Gloss-to-Matte Carbon Fiber

Hi All,

I recently purchased a carbon fiber front splitter for my car. Currently, the splitter is coated in gloss, but I'd like the part to be matte. Has anyone here done this before or have any suggestions?

That gloss you are referring to is a clearcoat paint, and I do believe it is there to protect the CF. I read an article on the ZR1's Carbon Fiber and it was covered with a special paint to protect it from the UV's. I would check with the manufacturer of the splitter to see if you can get it to a matte finish, but I doubt it now that it is a finished product.
