[VIDEO] Wrecked C5 Corvette Gets Even More Trashed By Tow Truck
This C5 Z06 crashed on the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago. Unfortuately for the owner, the driver of tow truck seems more concerned with clearing the accident from the road than the car and safetly of the Corvette. Painful to watch...

Honestly, if that was my car, after I tapped the wall hard enough to lose a front wheel, Id thank the tow truck driver for making sure it was totaled. I wouldnt have wanted that car back. Heck, I'd be surprised if the owner didnt personally ask the town truck driver to give it the once over.

Speaking of tow trucks, I had a flatbed show up to get me to a dealership for repair. The driver asked me to drive it up on the ramp, which I did without incident. Normally, the guy said he winches cars on to the flatbed, but he said there was no place to hook on. I chalked it up to him not knowing and not taking a chance.
What should you tell a tow truck guy with regards to pulling a Vette up a flatbed??? I haven't checked the owner manual on tow points.

so its also ok for the tow truck driver to have the passenger side dig into the road? that makes no sense. wrong vehicle was used. damage from a winch would have been far less if they tried the flatbed approach

Kind of funny that a Corvette website (Corvette blogger) says, and I quote "The owner of C5 Corvette (which looks to be a Z06) "
What part of that car looks like a Z06?

god that was brutal.. reminds me of the few times ive been towed! not for hitting a wall of course.. but geeze
a flat bed truck driver should know the low points.. i have been on a flat bed two times. one time someone hit me, the other time 3/5 lug stud broke on my back right rims ( i have NO idea how that happened...)
both times the drivers knew where to hook it up at, it was just had because its lowered so we had to get some 4x8's!
maybe you had a new driver?!?! >_<
just fyi, next time when u call the towing company ask for someone who knows how to deal with exotic cars! thats what i asked for and the 2 guys that came out were awesome... (i was still freakin out tho ) they told me about how they do lambos etc.. so i felt i was in good hands

Their only interest is getting the car off the highway (as you can plainly see in that video) Those guys get their kicks out of those type of tows. ESPECIALLY if the guy driving that tow truck was on call and he was called at 2:00am on a Sunday, he ain't caring about anthing but getting that car off the road, to the impund lot and getting back to what he was doing before being called upon........

Many roads are restricted as to who can tow. That guy was probably called by the Illinois State Police and is one of the few "Authorized" tow comapnies for that particular roadway...
