Anyone running Vredesteins?
I have heard some good things about these tires on the forum, but there is not much else on them. Since they come in factory Z06 sizes, I was wondering if anyone is running the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires. Also, how you would compare them to the top of the line tires like the PS2's. I realize everyone has their own opinions on tires, but I am mainly looking for feedback specifically on the Vredesteins. Thanks!

I'm on my second set. Use them for street and wet track days. They aren't PS2's but they cost less and apparently are quieter than the 2's.
There are a lot of threads on these tires for more info.

I just got done running a set and couldn't be happier with them being an all-around "solid" tire. Great in the rain, great on the street and held up pretty well on the track (dry and wet conditions).
Once I get another set of rims for the track I'll get the Vredesteins for the street again

I'm looking at them too.
My question is about the sidewall...I like a stiff sidewall tire.I have looked and have got a price for a set for $800 shipped. Not bad.

If you look at the current design of the factory tires for the new Vettes you will see that the Vredsteins have been plagiarized. So whatever is good for GM will be good for you too!!

very stiff sidewall. great tire. i have used it for almost two years now as a daily driver (60 miles a day) and they are handling as new. tread life is very good for a tire this sticky. much better then the PS2s. outstanding wet and dry traction. dry traction is as good as tires much more expensive and wet traction is superior.
as said before, the only thing i dont love is the tread design. this can be overlooked and i do get compliments for it, so some do like it.

Hi Over-torque,
I see you are in Wilmington, NC. Not sure how cold it gets there; do you ride on these in the winter? Trying to get some idea of how these tires are in cold weather; I'm thinking they are considered a summer tire?
Thanks.

I have them. Gotem about 3 years ago. I have over 30,000 miles on them. I think they will go a bunch more. Best rain tires I have ever had on any car from any tire maker. I live in Washington State so I know a good rain tire when I drive one.

Have them on my '02 and they are head and shoulders above the original Goodyears. They bite really hard in the corners and I always park with the front tires at lock so the tread is visible. Great tire for the $$.

I spoke with a rep from the Vredestein company because their U.S. HQ is here in Metuchen, NJ. He gave me a lot of input on my decision. There are several magazines from Europe with comparison tests on them vs. PS2's and other performance tires. They were rated best in perf. and value. Unfortunately none of the publications were translated, so I've got to take his word for it. I was referred to a dealer here in north Jersey who quoted me a price for all four tires running 18"s front and rear for under $800. That's only about $600 cheaper than the PS2's I need to replace. Like many people nowadays, I'm a little more concerned with my budget than when I originally purchased mt tires and wheels. So I've really got to consider all the positive comments I've heard on the Vredesteins. At this point I'm almost definete I'll be trying these next.
