Default 2001 bose radio lights are out

I have a 2001 coupe with the factory bose head unit. The display and the radio itself work fine, but all of the lights are out. I removed the radio and opened it up to find that all of the bulbs are fine. I am wondering if the BCM controls the illumination circuit independantly of the display. Has anyone else had the same issue? Could it be the BCM or a circuit inside the radio itself? Thanks for any help.

I had the exact same problem....it's not the BCM (I thought the same at first). The problem is internal to the radio(faulty circuit board) I went the route of an exchange unit from my local dealership. about $400.00 installed with a warranty (12 months). There are plenty of units available online (corvette forum, e-bay, etc.) but for a few extra bucks, I got a warranty. I figured with my luck, I'd by a used unit and have it break down in a week.
Hope this helps.....by the way...my vert is also a 2001

Bikerbob61, Thank you very much for your help. I guess I may have that excuse I needed to change the Radio. Thanks again

As vette owners we always find a way to rationalize spending money on our toys

As another option, you could contact JW Motoring and see if they can not only fix the lights, but also maybe put in some LEDs while they are there.
