Default Intake Tornado/Turbo/Fan, too good to be true??

All over the Internet I see ads- eBay is guilty of a lot of them too- but these Air intake "Tornado's" or "Turbos" that supposedly help direct air with higher velocity into the throttle body... Some promise ridiculous gains which I wouldn't believe for a second, but the new modest ones say 3-8 hp, and possible mpg gains, and for the price, if true this would be a hell of a steal, but has anyone used/dealt/installed these before?? There anywhere from $12 (cheapest) to around $80 for the more expensive ones, some are shaped like a cookie cutter, some colored, etc, but all look "cosmetically" appealing/nice... And to tell you the truth, I do see a concept, possibility of some partial goodness to these... Please let me know if anyone's ever dealt with these before... Thanks a ton!!

Wes,
Ask yourself a few questions.....like: wouldn't GM and Ford, with their mega resources (money and engineers) use these if they worked?
Let your answer guide you in the purchase.

After you buy one, please consider the bridge I have for sale. It's the longest, highest bridge in the world, trust me!

Everyone says they are ******** and they probably are but just for me I would like to see some real world testing just to prove it. Also yes GM/Ford with their mega resources (money and engineers) like someone posted arean't always perfect let's not start on the CLB issues that's cured with a aftermarket part or other crap that they dropped the ball on. Like I said sure they are BS but would like to see one tested.

About as useful as the $80 replacement "chip" that will give you up to 50 HP
