Corvette Show PA
Probably will not be going to Carlisle. Waited all year for this show. Damn, better safe than sorry. I know this won't happen, but would wish it could be postponed for next weekend. Hoping all that go are safe and sound. Good Luck.

I hear ya...was looking forward to the show all year since last year. What really upsets me is the cold shoulder treatment from Carlisle Events. NO REFUNDS for my prepaid sticker i bought months ago. At least Lance could offer a special discount for next year for those who are in harms way and can't make it due to the unprecentented circumstances caused by hurricane Irene. I can't tell u how many years i drove in pouring rain storms to go there to support Corvettes at Carlisle. I NEVER drive my Corvettes to car shows when rain is forcast EXCEPT Corvettes at Carlisle. Are you listening Lance & Corvettes @ Carlisle???

At this time I'm still going, but just for Friday since it's close enough for a one day trip. I'll still check the weather though before I leave in case there's any changes. This is the same weekend that Katrina hit the Gulf.

Protect yourself, screw the car.
Do what you need to do to keep you and the family safe.
Got to wonder though if Carlisle wouldn't be better than NJ?
Perhaps you move your reservation to say, Pittsburg........

Just got back. Left at 6 this morning. Now they are saying it may not rain there till Saturday but looked like it was starting to cloud up to me. This was my first time and although many of you wisely cancelled, there were more Vettes than I could last walking to see. Saw a few puddles but no serious mud. The paving they have done is a real help. I can remember going to the Spring show and you needed some serious boots.
I didn't see any bargains in the car corral despite the threating weather. Only thing remotely in my range was a green 2000 Vert with 90thou on it for 13K. But looking at the hood fit it had obviously been wrecked.
Speaking of wrecks, I'm still waiting for a couple to come up at auction. My Carlisle trip wasn't a complete bust as I got some bussiness cards from parts guys within driving distance when the time comes.
Hope all you guys that had to cancel stay safe and make it next year.

What I would give to have another Corvette weekend before next year. I feel badly for the vendors who spent a fortune on space fees, staff salaries, shipping, hotel rooms for staff, meals for staff, etc.
Well, hopefully next year.
Stay safe everyone.

Thank you Lance and Corvettes @ Carlisle. Upon reconsideration of the magnitude of the storm and my cancelling this trip, they are going to send me a prepaid entry for next years event. THANK YOU VERY MUCH Lance Miller!!!! Wish i could say the same about Courtyard By Marriott in Mechanicsburg who insisted I still pay for my hotel room.

Was there today!
I always go on Friday. If I was planning on going tomorrow or Sunday, I think I'd stay home. It's a great event, but not worth my life.

I agree. As a fellow Floridian, safety first when it comes to driving in threatening weather, however from a pure selfish perspective, I don't want the stuff flying around during such storms to damage my Corvette. All those sticks, boxes, plastic crap, cans and other litter that you normally just drive by become damage producing projectiles when you combine the wind speed with the Corvette speed.

^ Howdy neighbor....next town over. There was still a lot of vehicles in attendance. Kinda odd, but the showfield and vendor areas were still plentiful, but the spectators were down in attendance. Beautiful day before the storm. I talked my friend outta bringing his so we both went in his truck but pulled his interior out to bring w/us for reupholstery. Also a big, big, big thank you to Dale at Al Knoch's interior for getting his seats redone in a 5hr timespan from dropoff to pickup. These guys are the best and were working tenaciously on all orders as everyone is heading out midday tomorrow. Safe wishes for all our corvette brothers/sisters and their families up and down the eastcoast this weekend. Unfortunately, i'm expecting it to hit northern jersey hard tomorrow night and Sunday.
