Default Vararam Power Duct

I have read some threads where the PD is a PITA to install. Why? What will I experience? Are there undocumented modificat6ions that will need to be made? Just trying to prepare for the unforseen...

Sorry.

ON the earlier year corvettes they had different height engine mounts or something along those lines so with the powerduct being fixed and not having an accordion tube like factory it has some fit issues in some of the earlier years but after 01 I believe they dont have problems.

Sure.
The product was advertised to move the MAF to between the duct and throttle body. The duct was completely the wrong size to do that, and the earlier MAF was too long to even fit in that space.
So the MAF had to go in it's usual place, between the Vararam and the duct. The MAF actually fit that end of the duct. Very tight fit.
However, none of the silicone couplers provided were correct to do any of this, so I had to mix and match stuff I had with stuff they provided to make it all work.
I emailed them and explained and asked for the correct couplers which they supplied but they were not interested in getting the set up correct or changing the instructions.

Here is how it came out:

I had to really stretch the hose to fit the duct and the throttle body. You can see that in the photo. I haven't used the hose they sent me because this is all going to be changed when I put the 90mm TB and FAST 102 intake on. I'll need an 85mm MAF at the same time and probably have to play this game all over again.
BTW, the duct contacts the hood felt.

Ron
